The CAMI butcher block kitchen island is crafted from solid walnut and designed for both prep and everyday use. It offers generous work surface, integrated storage, and optional seating in a clean, straightforward form.
The 2½-inch thick end-grain walnut top is built for daily food prep. End grain is durable, easy on knives, and self-healing over time. Each top is finished with our food-safe mineral oil and beeswax blend, and a care tin is included.
The solid walnut base is sealed with a hardwax oil and built for long-term stability. CAMI features 4-inch apron drawers with customizable hardware and a stretcher-style base for added support.
Each island is made to order in our Connecticut workshop and can be customized in size, drawer layout, and hardware depending on availability.
FAQ
What wood options are available for your butcher block tops?
We offer two wood choices: sugar maple and walnut. Sugar maple is our standard option, valued for its durability, resistance to scratches, and low-maintenance care. Walnut provides the same functionality with a warm, rich brown color and natural antimicrobial properties. If you’re interested in walnut, please contact us for pricing, as it’s offered at a different rate.
Can I choose the grain style of the butcher block?
Yes! Our standard butcher blocks are crafted with edge-grain, which offers a clean, uniform look and lasting durability. We also offer end-grain by request, which features a checkered pattern and is especially gentle on knives.
End-grain is available at a different rate—just reach out if you'd like to explore that option and we’re happy to provide pricing.

Clients in most of New England and the NYC metro area will receive white glove delivery.
For clients outside our white glove region, delivery is typically arranged by appointment in one of two ways:
Shipper-Assisted Delivery:
In most cases, your item will be carefully wrapped and delivered without a pallet, helping reduce waste. The shipper will assist with bringing the piece into your home, though you may need an extra set of hands depending on size and weight.
Freight Pallet Delivery:
If shipper-assisted service isn't available in your area, your item will ship flat-packed on a pallet and be delivered to your curbside or driveway. Freight carriers cannot assist with unpacking or placement, so you’ll need help to move and set up the piece once it arrives.
Details
Each piece is made to order in our Connecticut workshop. Measurements are approximate, and slight variations may occur, reflecting the unique nature of handcrafted furniture. Natural wood expands and contracts with the seasons. Due to the handcrafted process, butcher block thickness may vary by approximately ± ⅛ inch from sanding and finishing.
