LARA Butcher Block Kitchen Island

Our handcrafted LARA butcher block cart features a 8″ drop leaf extension on the back and counter seating! This piece is crafted from locally-sourced, kiln-dried maple, ensuring quality and durability. The top is made from edge grain raw sugar maple, approximately 1.5 inches thick, and is renowned for its resilience and tight grain. The cart’s standard configuration includes an 8-inch drop leaf on the back, adding additional counter space. However, you can customize the cart with additional leaves:
– Adding leaves to both the front and back will eliminate the drawer.
– Leaves can also be added to one or both sides for even more work surface without affecting the drawer.
Sugar maple’s low porosity makes the wood naturally sanitary, allowing safe food preparation on the surface. The sturdy base of the cart is also made from sugar maple, and can be painted in any color of your choice (or left natural)! In addition, the LARA cart includes a spacious utensil drawer without hardware, although hardware can be added. The raw butcher block is conditioned with beeswax and food-safe mineral oil to preserve its natural beauty and ensure longevity.
