CHEF Butcher Block Cart

*A drop leaf can be added to any of our butcher block kitchen islands & carts*

Our custom CHEF butcher block cart is handcrafted to order from locally sourced New England sugar maple, renowned for its resilience, tight grain, and natural sanitary properties. The cart features a 3-inch thick edge grain butcher block top that’s perfect for direct cutting and chopping. The solid maple base can be painted in any color you choose, with examples shown in black, Sherwin Williams’ “Spicy Hue,” and Benjamin Moore’s “Subway Tile.” A spacious utensil drawer with a shaker-style face provides ample storage space, with solid bronze matte black appliance pulls—custom options are also available. The vintage-style black caster wheels offer easy mobility, but you can opt for a stationary base if a more permanent fixture is desired. Your wood will have its own unique characteristics based on the lumber from the mill. The raw butcher block is conditioned with beeswax and food safe mineral oil. The two solid maple shelves are finished with a natural hardening oil.

What wood options are available for your butcher block tops?

We typically use sugar maple or walnut for our butcher blocks. Sugar Maple is durable, resistant to scratches and water, easy to clean, and naturally antibacterial. Walnut has a rich brown color, is strong, wear-resistant, and naturally antimicrobial, making it versatile for any kitchen.

Can I choose the grain style of the butcher block?

Yes, we offer both edge grain and end grain butcher block tops. Edge grain has a sleek, uniform look, while end grain is gentler on knives and can help minimize visible wear over time. If you’d like to explore either option, feel free to send us a message!

What finishes are applied to your butcher blocks?

We use a food-safe blend of beeswax and mineral oil to treat our butcher blocks. This finish helps protect the wood and makes it safe for food preparation.
