LARA Butcher Block Kitchen Island

$2,100.00$2,900.00

Our handcrafted LARA butcher block cart features an 8-inch drop leaf extension, perfect for adding counter seating and extra workspace in your kitchen. Crafted from locally sourced, kiln-dried sugar maple, the top is approximately 1.5 inches thick and known for its tight grain and resilience, making it ideal for food preparation. The 8-inch drop leaf on the back provides extra counter space, but we offer further customization options to meet your specific needs:

  • Add leaves to both the front and back: This option will remove the drawer for additional space.
  • Add leaves to one or both sides: Expands the work surface without affecting the drawer functionality.

Sugar maple is renowned for its natural sanitary properties, making it the perfect choice for butcher blocks. You can prepare food directly on the surface with confidence. The cart’s sturdy base, also crafted from sugar maple, can be painted in any color to match your kitchen decor. The LARA cart includes a spacious Shaker-style utensil drawer, accented with a black pull. Hardware can be personalized to match your style. The two solid maple shelves are finished with a natural hardening oil, which protects the wood and enhances its natural beauty. To preserve the butcher block, we meticulously condition it with beeswax and food-safe mineral oil, ensuring long-lasting durability and making it ready for immediate use in your kitchen. The cart is perfect for kitchen prep, storage, and even counter seating.

Lead time is approximately 6-8 weeks

What wood options are available for your butcher block tops?

We offer two choices for our butcher blocks: sugar maple and walnut. Sugar maple is our standard option, prized for its durability, resistance to scratches and water, and ease of cleaning. Walnut offers the same durability and functionality with a warm, rich brown color and naturally antimicrobial properties. If you’re interested in walnut, please reach out to discuss pricing, as it is offered at a different rate.

Can I choose the grain style of the butcher block?

Yes, we offer both edge grain and end grain butcher block tops. Edge grain has a sleek, uniform look, while end grain features a distinctive checkered appearance. Both options are gentle on knives and help minimize visible wear over time. If you’d like to explore either option further, feel free to send us a message!
