CHEF Butcher Block Island or Cart

$2,245.00$3,045.00

Our CHEF butcher block kitchen island or cart is handcrafted to order from locally sourced New England sugar maple, celebrated for its durability, tight grain, and naturally sanitary properties. To protect its natural beauty, the butcher block is conditioned with a blend of beeswax and food-safe mineral oil, while the solid maple shelves are treated with a natural hardening oil. Each purchase includes a container of our in-house butcher block wax blend to help you maintain and preserve your piece for years to come.

The CHEF’s standard design includes:

  • A 3-inch thick edge grain butcher block top, ideal for direct chopping and slicing.
  • A solid maple base with a stationary design that can be painted in any color of your choice.
  • A spacious utensil drawer featuring the TOP KNOBS Ascendra appliance pull in flat black. (The pull color can be customized from Top Knobs’ available finishes, or let us know your hardware preference, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.)

What wood options are available for your butcher block tops?

We offer two wood choices: sugar maple and walnut. Sugar maple is our standard option, valued for its durability, resistance to scratches, and low-maintenance care. Walnut provides the same functionality with a warm, rich brown color and natural antimicrobial properties. If you’re interested in walnut, please contact us for pricing, as it’s offered at a different rate.

Can I choose the grain style of the butcher block?

Yes! We offer both edge grain and end grain options. Edge grain has a sleek, uniform look, while end grain features a distinctive checkered pattern. Both styles are gentle on knives and help minimize visible wear. If you’d like to explore either option further, feel free to reach out.

Please reach out with any questions before purchasing—we’re happy to provide more details about the delivery process!

Clients in most of New England and the NY Metro area will receive white glove delivery.

For clients outside our white glove delivery region, items are typically delivered by appointment in one of two ways:

  1. Shipper-Assisted Delivery: In most cases, your item will be carefully wrapped and delivered without the need for a pallet, eliminating pallet waste. The shipper will assist in bringing the item into your home, but additional help may be required depending on the size and weight of the item.
  2. Freight Pallet Delivery: When shipper-assisted delivery is not available, your item will be flat-packed on a freight pallet and delivered to your curbside or driveway. You will need help to unpack the pallet and move the product into your home, as freight drivers cannot assist with unpacking or placement.

Each piece is made to order in our Connecticut workshop. Measurements are approximate, and slight variations may occur, reflecting the unique nature of handcrafted furniture. Please note that solid wood is a natural material and may expand or contract with seasonal climate changes.

Lead time: Approximately 6-8 weeks
